Yoga Retreat in Bali

Azadi Retreat is available for yoga teachers who would like to bring their own group for yoga teacher training or retreat. We understand that organizing a retreat or training can be stressful and a bit daunting, especially if you haven’t yet discovered the beauty of Bali. We are here to support you to make sure your students have an incredible experience.

We are on hand to organize a lot of the logistics for you including booking airport transfers, excursions, spa treatments, beach trips and anything else you don’t have time to do.  Your job is to teach yoga and spend time with your group; let us do the rest for you.  We have a lot of experience in hosting yoga groups and can advise you on your retreat or training schedule and organize experiences to enhance your event such as sound healings, workshops and a Balinese ceremony for your opening circle.

Our 9-villa property can host up to 21 people.  For bigger groups we have an additional 7 rooms a short walk away.  Villas: 5 x twin share/double and 4 x triple share.

Any of these can be made into a private room with our hospitality bed system.

Yoga Shala

Nestled at the bottom of the retreat center

Our yoga shala is nestled at the bottom of the retreat center giving your group privacy and tranquillity. Nestled above the banks of the river you can enjoy beautiful rice-field and jungle views as you practice. Our favorite time of day is during the early morning practice when the soft sunlight is filtering through the trees and into the yoga shala.

With recycled ironwood pillars and teak wooden floors, the shala has an organic earthy feel. The yoga shala is equipped with

  • yoga mats, yoga blocks, bolsters, blankets
  • sound system, projector and screen, and a whiteboard.
  • natural insect repellent and yoga mat spray
  • water dispenser.
  • a beautiful flower mandala hand-made by our staff for your opening and closing circles.

Fans have been located to provide maximum breeze during the hotter months. Measuring 14 x 7m the shala can accommodate up to 35 people for yoga practice. No matter how big or small your group it is a lovely relaxing and intimate space with great healing energy for morning meditation.

Our friendly team is here to support you and be on hand to ensure everything happens exactly as it needs to. We want you and your participants to feel at home; just tell us what you need.

Please fill out our contact form and we will send you an info pack to answer all your questions along with our group rates.

Getting to Azadi Retreat

Situated in Ubud near the center of the island of Bali

We are situated in Ubud near the center of the island of Bali.  It is known as an arts and culture center.  The surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes.  It is approximately a 1 – 1.5 hour drive from Denpasar where the international airport is located.  It is easy to find taxis outside the airport or we can arrange them for you.

The airport is called Ngurah Rai International Airport and most major airlines fly there (pre-Covid) including Emirates, Qatar, Singapore Airlines and KLM.

Useful Information

Dry Season

April – September

Bali is at its peak with visitors during July and August.  Temperatures stay similar throughout the year from 26 – 30 degrees Celsius / 78 – 86 degrees Fahrenheit but during the dry season the evenings can be quite fresh.  You might still get the occasional rain shower but humidity is generally less.

Wet Season

November – March

Don’t be put off from visiting in the wet season – it is a special time of year that can often have sunny weather with an afternoon or overnight downpour.  It is more humid and it can be quite an experience to watch a tropical downpour.  The advantage is that during wet season Bali becomes quieter and very rarely will you have days when it rains continuously.  Recently the weather has been changing and the raining season is drier than it used to be.
